Welcome to the first boat-in cinema in the Nordics!

Stockholm International Film Festival proudly presents a brand new summer concept: boat–in – the first ever floating cinema in the Nordics.

Join us on Friday, August 8, for a one-of-a-kind film screening on water, right by the iconic Stockholm City Hall. As a prelude to this year’s 35th anniversary of our beloved Sommarbio in Rålis, we’re inviting you to experience Wes Anderson’s cult classic »The Life Aquatic« from either dry land or your own boat.

A double-sided screen will be anchored in the water, creating a cinematic experience unlike anything Stockholm has seen before – where the city, the archipelago and the world of film all meet.

The Life Aquatic (2004) by Wes Anderson
Oceanographer Steve Zissou sets out to hunt the mysterious shark that killed his partner. With a crew made up of misfits – including a journalist, his estranged wife, and a man who might be his son – the journey turns into a surreal, tragicomic adventure across the high seas. Expect Anderson’s signature style, unforgettable visuals, and a cast led by Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Willem Dafoe and Cate Blanchett.
